How much access does a grab lorry need?
The Grab lorry needs at least 11.5ft in width for access. Also consider if there are any cables or low hanging trees over the area which the lorry will need to go as they need at least 6m in headroom to operate the crane. If access to site is off a single track road or if you are unsure about having sufficient side loading space, please call for advise or to arrange a visit to the site.
What material can be collected by grab lorry?
We can collect the following loads of materials in either a six or eight wheel grab lorry. Please note that you are strongly advised to ensure your waste is segregated to avoid additional charges being applied.
Clean Concrete & Rubble
Concrete & Rubble can include bricks, concrete blocks, paving slabs, rubble, broken concrete and small volumes of tarmac (less than 10%). However the material must be clean and cannot contain any other waste types including reinforcement bar, soil, wood, green or any other general waste.
Inert Muck (Recyclable)
Can include mixed soil, stone and concrete. However material must not contain clay, chalk, tarmac, green waste or turf. If you have any turf or tarmac in your load, please contact 01264 722 832 for a job specific quote.
Muck Away (Inert Landfill)
Can include some clay, stone, sand or chalk. However must not contain any other waste types including green waste, turf or tarmac.

Our grab lorries can also carry green waste, mixed waste, wood and metal, however we will need more information to give you a quote for these materials, Please contact us on 01264 722 832.
When can your grab lorry arrive?
Our delivery and collection times are Monday to Friday 7:00 to 17:30. Although we cannot accept specific delivery and collection times, we will try our best to do so. Please leave any specific requests in the ‘Additional Notes’ section of the order form.
How can I pay for my grab hire?
Payment including VAT is payable on line or via the telephone.
What happens to the waste once the grab lorry has been?
The waste is transported to one of our licensed recycling facilities, where it is screened to recover all recyclable materials. We send the minimum amount of waste to landfill.
How do I know why waste will not be fly tipped?
Raymond Brown Grab Hire (part of Raymond Brown Waste Solutions Ltd) possess a valid Waste Carrier License and operate licensed recycling facilities that are strictly monitored and controlled by the Environment Agency.
